PAINTER | ILLUSTRATOR | DESIGNER

Allan C. Carandang is a painter and illustrator, formally trained in architectural and graphic design. Originally from the Pacific island of Guam, he has lived in San Diego, Santa Cruz, and currently calls the Pacific Northwest his home. Allan began his fine art career as a watercolorist, painting subjects ranging from urban scenes to natural landscapes to the human figure. In 2014, he began experimenting and refining his process of painting with coffee in all its forms – brewed, ground, and whole. This versatile medium surprisingly produces a wide range of warm sepia tones, but it also fills his studio with the sweet smell of java.
